Hello emacs

So I have decided at my "old" age to learn something entirely new.
Instead of relying on some weird editor to format the stuff I write
correctly (amongst other things) I have decided to start using emacs as
my main editor.

This is actually born from following Handmade Hero (kudos to Casey from
Mollyrocket.com for the effort) as he is doing everything in emacs,
including the build itself.

I have in the past couple of days actually become so accustomed to this
way of working that emacs also replaced my default text editor on every
platform (including Windows, where I have even replaced the notepad.exe
with emacs, thanks to binary fortress
for the notepad replacer)

That shall be all for now, I was really testing this now with a link
between emacs and my wordpress install on this website.

Hey folks,

just as I stumbled across this post : http://www.unixmen.com/install-and-configure-ldap-server-in-centos-7/ I was thinking back to the good old days of eBox (before it became Zentyal) and how I had attempted to build one of those myself (to some degree). I remember setting up a samba server with ldap authentication against an openldap directory which I had to populate myself.

Then a few months later i stumbled across eBox and also looked at SMB Linux(?) need to confirm and how much I wished I had known about this back when I needed it lol

a cold saturday mornin

after having spent last night tryin to fix my vps (running cent-os 5.1 at that time) and having re-compiled virtually everything from apache, php, python to subversion i gave up at about 3am and decided to give it a new go this morning.
So the first best thing i thought of doing was changing the server-distro, tried fedora 8 for a while (like 30 mins or so :P), and didn’t like it.
Strangely enough i ended up using ubuntu hardy heron (8.04), and I must say it was a breeze to get Trac and it’s plugins running on that server.
So at the moment, I am recommiting the code of JAF back into svn and then FINALLY i can go back to MY work and program and not spent hours and days on setting up and maintaining a bleeding server (‘xcuse my french there :P)

I’ll prolly write some more l8er on or rather tomorrow, not sure yet, just keep yer eyes peeled 😉

Peace out
Sebastian
